TGO KEY FOCUS AREA

The Green Organization works side by side with multi-stakeholders and youth to design, develop, implement and sustain solutions that address the challenges in four critical and interrelated areas. We achieve dramatic impact by increasing social inclusion and youth engagements in development.

1 EDUCATION FOR YOUTH & YOUTH SKILLS

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all young women and men in Afghanistan.

TGO strategy targets for education

To ensure equal access for all young women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university

To substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship

To eliminate gender disparities in education and ensure equal access to all levels of education and vocational training for the vulnerable, including persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and children in vulnerable situations

To substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers, including through international cooperation for teacher training in developing countries, especially least developed countries and small island developing States

To ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development

2 GOOD HEALTH & WELL BEING

TGO aims to insure healthy lives and promote well-being for all Afghan youth and children

To reduce maternal mortality ratio in Afghan communities

To reduce preventable deaths of newborns and under-five children

To promote prevention and treatment of addicted young women and men

To reduce the deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents

To increase access to essential health care services, and access to safe, effective, quality, and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for youth

To strengthen and increase capacities of the health workforce in Afghan societies through trainings, workshops and supportive programs

3 GIRLS AND WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT

We design, develop and implement effective programs to prevent violence against girls and women, improve education and health, and promote economic opportunities. Our efforts contribute to the behavioral change in the traditional and conservative society of Afghanistan. Our interventions through workshops, training and events help increase women’s knowledge, skills, and their leadership to positively transforming their lives and their communities.

To reduce and prevent discrimination against women and girls in Afghan communities.

To prevent and decrease violence against women and girls in.

To prevent and eliminate harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage.

To ensure the participation of young women and men in decision-making, economic opportunities, and public life at different levels.

To provide trainings and enhance the use of modern technologies in order to promote girls' and women’s empowerment.

4 PEACEFUL & INCLUSIVE SOCIETIES

The Green Organization promotes unity, creates synergy, elevate unheard voices of youth and engages all citizens to identify and address the root-causes of conflict and new solutions together in the Afghan society.

To promote capacities, knowledge, skills and competencies among the young populations that help them successfully participate and contribute to the peacebuilding and conflict resolution programs.

To Significantly reduce of violence and related death rates of youth and children

End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of youth and children

Ensure inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at local and national levels
